The birth of desert rock circa. 1980s, Palm Desert, CA. Without an alternate means to play, musical pioneers hauled their instruments, amplifiers and generators into the desert, forging a sound emblematic of the surrounding unforgiving landscape. Guided by distant halogens in the night, crowds would gather until dawn, creating an electric atmosphere.
